I hope you find these useful - this began as a project from one of my classes at USC.

Legend

ET = Ear Training, also known as aural skills.
JM = Jazz Artist. In most cases this type of website will feature a bio and promotional page that includes audio clips for CD's as well as performance dates. These are people I either know or admire in the field.
JH = Jazz History. Historical information on jazz artists or styles. These sites often contain interesting photos, and may contain audio clips.
ME = Music Education. General music education materials that I have found useful.
MS = Miscellaneous. Not fitting any of the categories above that I have used and thought there were great resources.

The Art of Hearing - Dr. Mason's jazz ear training book. I chose this link because it also shows you another great site to buy jazz books. ET

Bill Cunliffe - Jazz Pianist, composer and arranger. JM

Carmen Bradford - amazing jazz vocalist and educator. JM

Carol Welsman - award winning jazz vocalist, pianist, and educator. JM

David Tull - jazz drummer, singer, songwriter. JM

Chorus Confidential - Written by Dr. W. Dehning. Excellent resource about choral music education. MS

Jennifer Barnes - Amazing Jazz Educator, arranger, composer. JM

Jimmy Branly - Drummer: Jazz, pop, Latin. JM

John Proulx - jazz pianist, composer, and arranger. A great jazz pianist to hire if you ever need one. JM

The Jazz Singers Handbook - written by Michele Weir. A must-have resource for any jazz vocalist. MS

Matt Falker - He lists himself as a musician and educator. What you need to know is his vocal jazz arrangements and piano playing are spectacular! JM

Michele Weir - wonderful vocal jazz educator. JM

Dr. Thom Mason - world class educator and saxophonist. Period. Check out his Jazz Links section! JM

The William P. Gottlieb Collection- This is from Dr. Mason: it comprises over sixteen hundred photographs of celebrated jazz artists, documents the jazz scene from 1938 to 1948, primarily in New York City and Washington, D.C. JH
